Thank you for visiting! I am a Lieutenant with the La PazCounty Sheriff's Department in Parker, Arizona. I am currently assigned as Supervisor of the Boating Safety/Marine Enforcement Division and coordinator for the County School Resource Program. I have collateral duties as a staff instructor for the Arizona Watercraft Enforcement and Survival Tactics Course, Facilitator/Trainer with the Arizona POST Small Town And Rural (STAR) Community Policing Program, and am a Critical Boat Accident Investigator for my Department.

On August 1^st 2002 I retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, after a combined 27½ year career in the United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve. Since joining in 1975 I enjoyed a varied range of assignments, from Search and Rescue Stations in New Jersey and San Francisco, the Polar Icebreaker Burton Island, Air Station Barbers Point Hawaii, USCGC Munro, a 378’ High Endurance Cutter, and a stint on Boating Safety Detachments in Channel Islands Harbor, and the Colorado River. I was also assigned as Engineering Officer on USCGC Cleat, a 65’ Harbor Tug on the Delaware River, and USCGC Point Stuart, an 82’ Patrol Boat in San Diego. As a Reserve I was assigned to the Colorado River Patrol in Lake Havasu, Group San Diego - Naval Engineering, and Naval Engineering Support Unit / Maintenance Augmentation Team - San Diego.

Growing up in Southern California in the 60's and 70's was fine until wanderlust led me to travel the world, courtesy of Uncle Sam's Canoe Group (USCG). I finally decided to trade my surfboard for waterskis, leave the oceans for the River, and settle in the Desert.

I am married to the beautiful Kathleen, and have two wonderful children. Tony, a Police Officer for the Marana, Az. Police Department, and Kari, living in Oregon with her own family. My two Granddaughters (13) & (7), and my grandson (10), are my reason for being. Although Kathy and I are grandparents we are far from "old". (Old is a state of mind anyway.)

In addition to boating and waterskiing, my interests are music, playing guitar, NASCAR, CART and Off-Road Racing, and of course, spoiling the grandkids.
